Carpet Fitting Across Coulsdon's Extension Subfloor Joints

Carpet grippers are nailed or glued at a fixed height above the finished floor level on each side of that joint, so if the two subfloors don't match, the carpet either gaps over the gripper pins or binds and lifts right at the seam. Where I've already built a plywood transition ramp to level that joint, I set the gripper rods directly onto the ramp itself rather than onto either raw subfloor, keeping the pin height consistent right across the doorway so the carpet tensions evenly on both sides without a visible or physical step underfoot.
